I’d like to get into some small solar projects before committing to a home set up. Something simple, like charging my phone and tablet from a battery/power storage. Something that is scalable to larger electronics.

What are some websites you’d recommend to learn from, and what are trusted companies to buy from?

Thank you for your time!

Piggybacking here because I’m interested too. I know Harbor Freight have some simple panels that just have an outlet that can do a few hundred watts. I’m thinking about doing that just to play with it, and charge my phone or something

There are easy to move and fold up solar-panels for camping that can charge USB devices (like phones or power-banks) and I think larger ones can also charge laptops etc. They are a bit expensive usually, but a nice start and good to have for emergencies as well.

Recently I had the same thoughts and got a Jackery 240D with a solar panel. Honestly think it’s a bit too expensive and a bit more than what I need. I wish it had a proper outlet on it; that would open up so many options.

Asides from that I quite like it. I can power a laptop and phone for a good long while.
