There was something called the Europass back in the 70’s/80’s. I never knew that went away.
It still exists.

But those are unlimited travel for a limited time, not the same as buying a ticket from point A to point B by train.
I so hope this actually works and the ticket is reasonably priced and pet friendly.
Last year I traveled by train from Paris to Berlin, and I was surprised by the lack of coordination between the two countries’ rail systems. Everything from buying a ticket in the first place to figuring out what to do when one of the trains was rescheduled.
