    Trek was woke since day one. Uhura (Nichelle Nichols) on the bridge being treated as an equal, as a Black woman in the 1960s was so radical back then.

    Reportedly, it inspired Whoopi Goldberg to get into acting (and she later went on to play the bartender Guinan on Star Trek: The Next Generation). Goldberg is reported to have called out to her mother: “Mama, there’s a Coloured woman on the television, and she ain’t no maid!” I hope they met; I’m sure they have.

      Oh, it was blatant.

      ToS is pretty straight forward with much of it’s ethical conflict.

      But it’s mostly just Greek morality plays.
