Linux@lemmy.ml•Anyone running Fedora on a Macbook (Intel) ?
4·4 days agoI run Fedora Workstation on a 2012 MacBook Pro and enabling rpm fusion to get the Broadcom drivers was enough.
I had to repeat the operation once or twice in 3-4 years but otherwise it’s been smooth sailing.
I haven’t tried sleep mode though as I always turn off the computer.

Open Source@lemmy.ml•OnlyOffice seem to have taken down their Android app source code
2·4 days agoI’ve been a happy OnlyOffice user for a while now.
However, if the people behind are crap, I wouldn’t mind moving to something else.
I’d only want it to work easily with kDrive (cloud storage) and also be able to do light work on my iPhone.
Do you know if this could be done with one of its alternatives?

Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•Alleged Steam Machine specs according to Chris Mizo (edit: was already shared by valve themselves)
4·5 days ago800$ would be my soft limit as I already have a Steam Deck and a Playstation 5.
1000$ with two controllers would be my hard limit.
I’d want to sell the Playstation 5, but my son plays Roblox and Fortnite on it and he wouldn’t allow me😅
Plus there might be a few Sony exclusives I’d want to play if they’re as great as what we got at the end of the Playstation 4 era. It’s also mostly used to watch the NBA league pass as Linux used to be troublesome for this (don’t know if it still is).

Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•What are you playing on your Deck? - May 2026
2·23 days agoMafia 2 Definitive edition.
The first one was great and I’m enjoying the second one for now.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Framework announced the Framework 13 Pro with full Linux compatibility from the Start
2·1 month agoI fully agree!
As much as I want to support Linux/repairability friendly companies, I want to avoid creating e-waste even more.
That’s why, for my administrative uses, I might never buy a new PC again but only get Linux friendly used ones.
As for gaming, I’ll still probably get a Steam Machine on top of my Steam Deck (got it used) as you need something more powerful and can’t just get something from 2012 if you want to be able to play recent games.

DeGoogle Yourself@lemmy.ml•I'm finally done with Google and YouTube!!
2·1 month agoNot sure if I’m right, but the content would still come from YouTube.
Also, I want the creators to get paid so I don’t know if that would be the case with such tools.

3·1 month agoCongratulations!
Despite enjoying Peertube and Odissey, I never managed to do it.
I’m really happy with Kagi but I’m scared its price might go up and I’d want them to really not depend on the GAFAM. I think their results or something is still coming out of these bad companies…
Gosh, thanks it worked! I already had the application, but the Fedora version (also a Flatpak) instead of the Flathub one.
Now I’ll have to see if I can install it in Pop OS and see if it allows me to display the pictures in Kodi.
