I for one definitely would prefer guided economic development over the free market. All that does is iterate on the same pointless, low quality crap nobody really needs any more. I’d rather the government directs the relevant economic sectors, either directly or through specific financial incentives.

Understanding them from context works reasonably well yes, but they are still odd letters in modern usage, most people couldnt use or type these on their devices without extra steps.
Seems unnecessarily complicated for everyday use. Being a german myself i also do not use our Umlaute outside of communication in german, because barely any other reader can make sense of ä, ö, ü. Simpler to just spell them accordingly as ae, oe, ue.
Ironically on lemmy it is the more “liberal” flavors of leftism really not wanting anything to do with the more hardcore leftists on certain instances, to the point that we have dedicated communities and users making it their digital purpose to further that goal.
