Why would she marry the fish?
Since I invariably wind up getting “name suits” types of comments, here’s the explanation behind it:
Around the turn of the millennium, I was trying to come up with a username to use on a particular site that had a shortish character count limit for usernames. My goal was something related to the fact that I would often be making my points in arguments with “holier-than-thou” types by taking what they were saying, and turning it on its head so the offensive stuff was directed back at them.
I also happened to learn shortly beforehand that many years ago “'ape” was somewhat commonly used as a verb to mean “imitate” or “copy.”
I’m sure you can figure the rest out.

I say milk 'em for all they’re worth. They grift plenty enough, so I’ve got no problem turning the tables.
I was a kid in 6th grade the last time I spoke any significant amount of German while attending Internationale Gesamtschule Heidelberg. With nobody to speak in German with since then, I have forgotten too much of it in the roughly 45 years since to hold even a minimal conversation. I wish that weren’t so, as I still miss that beautiful country (kid me loved exploring the castles).

Gen X here. How would biting my tongue help? You don’t change anything by keeping silent, especially since we are sometimes called “the forgotten generation.”
And the only cost was the USA itself.

1·21 days agoOh, I’m ready. My spouse - whose health issues make her dependent upon me - isn’t, however. I’m mainly still here for her because she’s one of the relatively small number of decent ones, and doesn’t deserve any of the trouble in her life already, let alone more.

Have you looked around the world lately? Ain’t much that isn’t anymore.
