Oh he did that in the main video. 🤣

Hey, that looks like a demonstration of an open differential in a Nissan Cube! Seems like that would make for an excellent introduction into how a Toyota eCVT hybrid transmission functions similarly to a differential but with electric motor/generators instead of wheels.

World News@quokk.au•Deadly China plane crash was caused by fuel cut-off, says reportEnglish
3·19 days agoFascinating. That shouldn’t be possible, but obviously this does raise doubts.
Even if there is a way for the switches to physically fail, like maybe the spring can fail to pull the switch down leaving it able move over the detent, it still seems like it would be absurdly unlikely for TWO switches to fail on the same flight, and one flip to cutoff right after the other, with a timing gap easily accounted for by a pilot turning one off after the other. My money is still, sadly, on intentional action (or possibly really awful mistake, since when one pilot asked why he put the switches in cutoff the other pilot did say that he hadn’t).

7·19 days agoThese are used differently. It’s a way to make something flexible become rigid. Like tent poles that become flexible when you want to put the tent away or rigid when you want to put the tent up.

3·19 days agoWoof. That’s two planes brought down by almost certainly intentional fuel cutoff by a pilot in a relatively short time. This 737 and the Air India 787.

1·1 month agoI knew someone was going to say this. 😂
Yeah, folding phones are cool! They combine the use case of a small tablet and the portability of a smartphone. But that challenges Apple’s own product line. Why buy an iPad and an iPhone if buying one product solves both use cases?
But imagine if Apple had thought that way in 2007. “Why put music on the iPhone, people might not buy iPods then!”

15·1 month agoPlease don’t. The man is so cautious Apple hasn’t made a groundbreaking product in well-over a decade, except perhaps the M series processors. And I guess maybe the Apple Vision Pro, but that flopped HARD.
His absurd level of caution means Apple is nearly a decade behind its competitors in some areas. For example, Samsung has had folding phones for almost eight years, and Apple is MAYBE rolling one out this year. And according to the rumor mill it will be disappointing. They’re on the back foot, copying instead of innovating.
He’s led the company well as far as investors are concerned. Incremental changes to a working formula means they continue to print money. But the Apple of old is barely breathing.
