Linux@lemmy.ml•Framework says it's selling more Linux laptops than Windows as new Laptop 13 Pro sells out first 7 batches
22·25 days agoThey always were Linux-friendly. Some hardware choices like the fingerprint reader were directly related to Linux compatibility. Firmware and UEFI updates have always been available on Linux. They sponsor a lot of FOSS projects (some of them unfortunately linked to nazi dipshits, stirring a lot of controversy, but 99% of them are clean).
They may not have explicitely advertised Linux before, but they dropped a lot of hints.

Linux@lemmy.ml•What's the proper way to install every-day CLI tools on immutable distributions like Fedora Bluefin?
10·27 days agoI don’t think you understand the point of an immutable distro.

15·29 days agoMan I was really hoping for a haptic touchpad compatible with the current input cover… At least they kept the Pro input cover compatible with the regular chassis, although it’s a very pricey upgrade.

Yes it’s already there, you just have to activate the performance overlay in the “•••” menu.
You can easily alter one of the presets to only show battery percentage by editing
/home/deck/.config/MangoHud/preset.confusing this documentation. My goto preset only shows FPS, watts and battery percentage.

Electric Vehicles@slrpnk.net•Porsche Is Adding Fake Gear Shifts to Its EVs, 2027 Taycan Will Be First: Exclusive
1·6 months agoThis is idiotic.
I can imagine a world where paddle shifters control throttle and regen behavior. Like “downshifting” from a gentle lift and coast to heavy regen-braking in steps, same with “upshifting” from max torque to gentle eco-mode. Would make EVs even more amazing for people like me actually.
But this, this is stupid.

Most of them are just a frontend for
