Some of the cheap ones aren’t real bone conduction. After a fake pair I bought a pair of Shokz, wear them in the shower all the time, usually after getting them (and myself) sweaty.

1·14 days agoTornado damage is isolated, it doesn’t cover an area like a hurricane. Either a tornado goes over them and destroys them no matter how they are mounted, or the tornado is something happening somewhere else.

Electric Vehicles@slrpnk.net•BYD Song Ultra EV shakes up the industry with 5-minute fast charging, 22k USD
1·16 days agoWell, it’s technically disclosed in fine print I’m sure, but hardly anybody is aware of the level of snooping their car is actually doing. There is no need or room for undisclosed spying, it is already spying on pretty much everything you do inside it or on phones connected to it, in the US anyway. I don’t know how much better protections are in the EU either.

4·19 days agoOh, it’s OK, he specifically addressed how to get good AI results. He commanded Chat-GPT to give him good info. If you just ask nicely it won’t work, you have to be forceful. Forget boat building, he should clearly be teaching classes on using LLMs.

The picture was actually of a crew member’s son. They thought it would be mean to use a girl’s picture.

Ontario@lemmy.ca•Doug Ford says he will not ban companies from charging two people different prices for the same item, saying that doing so would be “socialism.”
2·1 month agoNope, it’s worse. Prices will be raised on people in too tough a spot to go somewhere else. Grandpa and John will pay the increased price because they don’t have cars and this store is either the only one close enough to walk to or the near a bus stop within a route or two. If they raise the price on someone with more money, they can probably choose to go somewhere else. Unless all the chains cooperate on individual customer based price fixing I guess. Quick, someone patent that, if it hasn’t been already.

2·1 month agoThat, I think, is part of the impetus for switching to digital price tags. The tag will literally be able to charge the displyed price depending on who is walking down the aisle. This idea has been patented, and probably not by someone trying to keep anyone from doing it.

Yeah, I got a pair that claimed bone conduction, but just has little speakers that play into the air. Can hear them just as well holding them next to your head as wearing them. Didn’t try them under water, they have little speaker holes. They work as emergency backups.
