There’s a sort of societal pressure to present as your gender when you’re trans simply because it’s safer and the alternative is often being misgendered and marginalized. it’s also really scary to change presentation early on so early in the transition is when you’ll see many sort of “overcorrect” and go overly femme or masc, but many are perfectly happy to be gender non-conforming, and many try less hard as they get more comfortable with themselves.

There’s also the growing trend of femboys or guys that present more feminine, and I see guys painting their nails more than before these days.

I think a celebrity making a gesture or doing something symbolically is really cool, but at the end of the day the real signs of a cultural shift is what regular people are doing casually, and to me it feels like there’s something shifting, even if it’s slow going and there’s pushback.

PS the trans dress thing sounds sort of accidentally transphobic, but looking at your profile I don’t think that was intentional and is just an issue of phrasing.

Let me make this clear. A lot of you are missing the point.

If you support trans rights and you support someones identity, but you maybe don’t support a trans billionaire as mentioned by one commenter, then that’s but “I support trans people, but”. That’s just supporting trans people.

If your support for someones identity or rights is conditional then that would be the problem. Phrases like the one in the comic is often made when saying something controversial and invalidating, like only supporting some trans people or thinking it’s okay to misgender certain trans people.

Traffic cone tits is pretty common 😭 but you’re early in your hormonal transition so I can tell you they will fill out more, especially if you put on a bit of weight, so remember to eat properly!

Much like WPATH and other serious organizations blåhaj firmly supports HRT for minors. All current research suggests that for those that need it it is everything from good to life saving.

In many cases people cannot safely pursue HRT with the aid of a doctor, or the care that they receive does not follow proper guidelines. We often receive doses that are simply too low or even too high at times when it comes to certain blockers. Given that puberty is permanent and can cause trauma and harm, and given that HRT is life saving, we fully support DIY.

I described authoritarians. Socialists, communists, and anarchists are not tankies unless they defend authoritarian regimes.

For anyone wondering why we have such strict rules regarding tankies in our community, it’s because they have a tendency to try to worm their way into leftist spaces. Tankies constantly try to convince everyone that they are leftists and that being opposed to working with them is “leftist infighting”, yet they will defend nation states which oppress unions, commit genocides, or do straight up imperialism. All the same things that capitalist nations do. They either embrace these things or deny they happened, or explain that they were somehow necessary. Some are earnest in how they try to convince others, and some know their stances are not popular and try to be subtle.

Tankies are not leftists, and disagreeing with them is not arbitrary. Based on this we have decided to not platform them on 196. This is mentioned in the sidebar and anyone who does not like this is free to go elsewhere. Additionally, we usually give a warning if the infringing comments are not too bad. Both instances posted about here were instances where they were warned yet continued with their behavior.

Edit: We also don’t mind tankies being active on 196, we only mind them defending tankies or proselytizing.
