Valve have officially opened up the source code for Lepton, their compatibility layer to run Android games on Linux for the Steam Frame.

Several of the VR games for the Frame are actually just android apps, running through lepton (and then maybe through Fex?). Valve is making Lepton open source, so we should see it elsewhere.

It’s part of steam now as well, but I don’t think we’re yet able to add an apk to Steam and run it. Hopefully that’s coming though.

    Keep in mind a lot of Android apps require Google’s bullshit (and Meta’s in case of the Quest) to be installed, so they won’t run or at least won’t run without issues on Lepton.
