I’m sitting at the airport people watching and feeling the same discomfort with my body and appearance that I’ve always felt, and I wonder how many women don’t feel like that and what it’s like.

Its exhausting and honestly makes me want to not be alive a lot of the time.

Edit: All my t-girl homies spotting the dysphoria right away 😅, I didn’t really want this to be about my dysphoria I guess, but well spotted.

My teenage self would be so surprised if she met me now. I grew up in a very mysogynistic culture, and was so, so insecure about my body.

I’m 43 now, and I just stopped giving fucks. My body is a functional asset, not a decorative one. I’m working on getting stronger and healthier, regardless of what “the wrapper” looks like.

I also stopped bothering to shave my body hair, which is something I never thought I’d feel comfortable doing.

I really hope you get to your own version of that. I know it’s hard to do that while living in our society. I’m sending you hugs!
