The United Russia party is easily on track to win Sunday’s tightly controlled Russian parliamentary elections, with President Vladimir Putin once again set to cement his dominance over domestic politics.
Years ago I watched a documentary about Putin and all the legwork he did winning over America since the 90’s. It said he doesn’t have to fix elections as much as people assume he does since the corruption he intentionally implies convinced enough people to stop participating in voting. I wonder if that still holds to this day or if we’re starting to see similar sit outs from voting in the US for the same reason.
