Guitar seems like something that could be have beem standardized either way as it requires fine motor skills for both hands.

I just started playing bass guitar this year and getting my left hand to work the strings is far harder than rhythm with the right.

I was going to learn banjo left-handed later in life and was urged not to. It would greatly limit the ability to swap and try out other instruments. I’ve never been able to finger pick because my right hand just doesn’t have that kind of dexterity despite years of trying/training.

Playing a piano is an ambidextrous instrument. And is great for building two hand co-ordination.
