However, according to Status, that “senior administration official” was Vance, who was “speaking on a background call with reporters authorized by the White House,” and had been granted anonymity by the press pool.
Look, just because that lines up perfectly with everything they’ve ever done and everything they’ve ever said that they will do that doesn’t mean that’s very obviously and glaringly what is happening here.
