Exactly. When the JCPOA was being negotiated those who opposed it were the conservatives of the USA, the UK, Europe, Israel and Iran.
They all wanted to strengthen their power by having an external enemy.
But liberals around the world wanted peace and a normalization of relations with Iran.
What’s so tragic about this is that when Trump attacked Iran, the far right leaders who were very unpopular got to say, “We told you they wanted to destroy our civilization!”. And this is how the extreme right got even more power.
