Well problem with PHEV is it’s simply awesome on paper but pretty much sucks in reality. It’s too much of a compromise with virtually all PHEVs I’ve seen so far.
You get underwhelming EV with low power and range and mediocre ICE part that has to work harder because all the extra weight (applies to EV part too).
Another downside is the technical part of it is much more complex with more things to break and once one part (EV/ICE) fails you can’t just use the other.
You also get all the ICE “fun” parts like oil change and compulsory exhaustion CO2 checks (where I live).
And it’s usually more expensive on top of all things.
