Who can blame her in an industry known for paying women less than men despite the order of credits.

She’s right. I can’t think if anyone else at the time that would have been a fit for the role.

More like The Devil Wears Adult Diapers…

If Hollywood has to milk a franchise, at least they could find a fresh cast.

Negotiating your salary and rejecting a salary you don’t find worth the work is dislikeable to you? What the hell is wrong with you?

shes an actress that got by on acting (like she’s) better than everyone and being full of herself, and reading “they needed me” just confirms that. i find her unlikable. is that allowed?

edit - i edited the part in brackets to be more clear

And they clearly needed her. She wasn’t wrong. In an industry that only rewards very few people with opportunity, you need to stand out and be a bit cocky. Do you think she would’ve ever gotten a role if she started negotiations with “Yea, you should absolutely hire someone else, I’m not what you want for this role”?

Edit. It’s the same in pretty much every industry too. You don’t go to a job interview and be like “yea, a lot of people are a lot more qualified for this position”. You go to the job interview and tell the recruiter that you’re what they need. If you don’t think you’re what they need, why would they ever be convinced?

You can dislike whoever you want, but your reasoning makes me dislike you. Live with it.

You’re allowed to be wrong, and we’re allowed to tell you so. Therefore, by your own rules, you must let us tell you so :P

              Also:

she got by on acting better than everyone

Yes, she’s a great actor, that’s exactly why she could demand - and get - a doubled salary for the film! (yes, I know what you meant here, but I’m taking it the other way because irony)

          acting better than everyone else

… Isn’t that the entrie point for actors? To act good, and they want the best actors for the biggest movies?
