Even the official reason for not doing this is embarrassing for Russia, they’re worried Ukraine will drone strike the hardware while it’s being prepped for the parade.
I loved an exchange I saw (probably badly translated, which added to the comedic aspect), which went something like:
Russian: there will be no hardware on the parade because Zelenskyy won’t allow it.
Ukrainian: Oh, no, you’re mistaken. Zeleskyy would like nothing more than there to be hardware on the parade. He even committed a platoon of drone operators to make an appearance!
