We haven’t looked at this situation in this community (at least that I’ve seen) and it is really important imv.
This growing threat to privacy and many more basic rights is already incorporating Australian data and details. The Australian Defence Department commenced using Palantir in 2011. Their systems are now used by multiple departments and private companies, such as Coles, and Crikey recently revealed US president Donald Trump is pushing to integrate the biometric details of Australians.
I wish the headline would be:
political party X brought up a motion to stop surveillance on Australian citizens by Palantir.
We need these types of parties / policical groups around the world. We deserve them. I’d vote and/or seriously consider voting for one if it’d appear in my location.
I’m sure it has been discussed several times previously (maybe search in relation to Coles if you’d like to read previous threads), not that I am against it coming up again.
