It does give some perspective. Is this data center so important that we need to emit as much pollution as a country with a population of 3 million people?
Valid that using as much as a small country is concerning either way…there are just magnitudes of difference. Uraguay and Jamaica have similar population sizes.
*Uruguay has a significantly higher per capita electricity consumption than Jamaica, using roughly 2.3 times more electricity per person. As of recent data, Uruguay’s consumption is approximately 2,388 kWh per capita, while Jamaica’s is 1,046 kWh. Since most CO2 generation is from Tue power grid.
How is that a measure? Just pick a random country with almost no infrastructure to compare it to? Weird is all.
