The password isn’t said in a situation that could be normal conversion. The captain (or who ever) says “Computer” and than a command (like “self destruct”) and the computer recognizes the voice in that moment. Than asks for confirmation and than for an absurdly long sequence of words (imagine having to remember something like that for the very unlikely instance and than having to recite it in an immense stress situation).
Why isn’t confirming to the computer voice enough? You don’t do that by accident.
I’d say, so they can’t accidentally blow the ship up while not of sound mind and disposing memory. Like imagine they are stoned and someone asks the captain “how do we blow up the ship again?” and he goes through the routine and accidentally triggers it. But if it’s a weird complicated password halfaway through, he might not be able to.
How do you need voice pattern recognition and a password? Isn’t the former enough? It’s like using your finger print to write your signature
