They botched their best new character. It should have kept the gritty crime angle and stopped the pushing the plushie toy angle.
Mando 1 & 2 were peak star wars and I loved the Luke bit but fuck everything after. Minus interest in this. Completely on disney, talent was there to make this good.
Could have made it Mando rescuing Grogu as the movie if you wanted.

Probably a internal kpi on movie releases, and they want to test mass market sentiment. I.e. has it been long enough since the last movie nostalgia kicks in, the Bethesda effect
