That was the same in Russia but look where we are now ? He’ll just aim to get Orban mini-me into power, he’ll ne a minister, then have the law changed back.
One can always say “laws are pointless if nobody follows them so why bother passing laws?”
It’s still worth doing.
These are just the first steps. So far the new gov seems to actually want to follow through with their promises. Which in the longer turn includes changing the election system to avoid a single party 2/3 majority being normal. And other checks and balances will need to be introduced since the fidesz gov gutted and changed everything to favor themselves. So far I am hopeful. We will have to see where the Tisza gov will lead us in the longer term.
