This is a wholesome community, so know that whatever your medium if you have created it, it’s good enough. Many people conflate results with the creative process, but they serve very different functions. If you only enjoy things for their results (and specifically results that are for other people) and not the making of them, it’ll be much harder and less enjoyable. What do you make and what draws you to that?
Sry my bad, missed the community name. Wrong community for self-deprecating humor.
Im sorry about that, force of habit.
Just some customizing on my PC, if that fits and painting miniatures.
As for the PC, i might get an idea and usually there aren’t anything on the market that fits the idea, so i have to build it myself. Usually it just doesn’t really turn out as well as i imagined, but others seem to like it and gives me reason to tinker with it more.
For the miniatures. As i already an a huge Warhammer 40k universe fan so eventually crossing over to miniature painting was kinda inevitable.
The activity itself is kinda enjoyable and good practice for fine motor skills. But those are all small, kinda obvious, which makes those underwhelming in addition it takes me weeks to complete even the simplest mini and for some reason it’s never good enough. Like it’s never finished.
While others did seem to like those and taught those were nice, i couldn’t really handle it, always got really embarrassed. So i packed and hid those away on the top of the closet, where only i can reach.
Though i haven’t given up on that hobby. One is still inside my PC as it thematically fits there and it’s somewhat hidden and currently assembling new ones that would thematically fit on top of a sound amplifier.
I’m painting some Tau and made the mistake to choose a main color that’s only slightly different from the primer. Which faction are you doing? For me, painting’s always combined with something else since I can only stand so much detail work at a time but overall I enjoy it.
That can make it slightly easier to paint the mini. Like using gunmetal silver while priming Necrons, add some nunl oil on it and many would consider the mini done already or at least battlefield ready.
I haven’t settled on any specific factions. Started with Techmarine, then some Mechanicus units, then a 1 armiger knight, then just half assembled Grimaldus and retinue and currently assembling Noise marines, hopefully i can finish those by the end of the next week as i am on a vacation so there should be enough time to paint those.
