When I got to work for a 100% employee company, it made me feel human. I quit jobs left and right up until that point, for reasons our little kitty friend mentioned.
The culture was so different, it really was the best it could get in our current systems. Where the “bottom guy” was heard just as much as the “top”. Work paid off directly into your pocket, and yeah, I felt human and apart of something.
It is unfourtunate, that in order for a company to become employee owned at all, the founder, owner, whatever, has to be benevolent… and sell the stocks back into the company to be redistributed to employees.
Often times a good way to pitch this is to market it as their retierment plan… oye. The founder of the company I worked for just did it- he was an awesome dude tbh.
For a time, I believed EO could save the workers of our nation, I just wish more companies would do it, I still believe it I guess.
