I gave up too, but found other ways around it … mostly using email and talking with individuals involved after the meeting. Also, sneakily asking awkward questions to the worst offenders can help, and lastly getting male allies to nudge the conversation in the direction I want it as a last resort.

If someone doesn’t read an email I come down on them like a ton of bricks.
