When I think of Russian/Soviet tactics - it reminds me of observations made by Lawrence of Arabia - it doesn’t matter how much imperial soldiers you kill - empire will send more. But blowing up empire’s shit (trains in Lawrence’s case) will actually hurt - because you can’t just venture to the streets, find a free train and coerce it to join your war effort.
Same with tanks - pile yermolays on it, doesn’t matter, tank itself should not be hurt.
While this is certainly a fair observation, I feel obligated to point out that the meme is a bit of a shitpost - what’s depicted is actually tank desant, a formerly-common practice (before widespread motorization of armies) wherein infantry would ride on the tank into battle, and then dismount as soon as the actual shooting started. Beats walking!
… assuming no ambushes occur to splatter the tank with infantry chunky salsa…
Also assuming you stay clear of the smashy bits of the tank.
Don’t get degloved by the turret ring.
