Xiaozheng Lin will spend more time in prison for killing two sex workers in 2022, following an appeal by the prosecutor.

Xiaozheng Lin has had his maximum sentence increased from 14 years in prison to 18 years following an appeal.

Lin was found guilty of manslaughter over the death of two sex workers in 2022.

    Lin was due to face a double-murder trial, but prosecutors agreed to the manslaughter plea deal in 2024.

    Plea deals in exchange for a ‘downgrade’ of charges are common but this one really stinks. It sounds like the easiest slam dunk double murder trial in history but I’m not a prosecutor.
