The $368 million network of instruments collecting data in both the Atlantic and Pacific has been critical to climate and ocean research.

There’s absolutely a reason for it. No data means no data. That’s way better for destructive big money than alarming data demonstrating a need for action.
This is the only and entire point. Let them die in the dark where their senses can’t help them.
