This is an investment instrument, common in the US. You lend your money to an institution for a short period of time (6 months) and in exchange you get a higher yield than in a typical savings account. You cannot touch the money in this 6 months, you pay taxes on the accrued interest, you get the difference as profit. According to wikipedia, the German noun for certificate of deposit is Sparbrief.
I haven’t found any Sparbrief offering on scalable capital, trade republic or comdirect, nor on the internet and wonder if I’m doing something wrong.
If you happen to be in a similar situation, what cds would you recommend? Is there a webpage that lets me compare?

Might be Festgeld/Termingeld?
German Wikipedia https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Termingeld translate to english button yields https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_deposit where CD in the US is mentioned in the 1st sentence.
With Comdirect you get 1.7% interest for fixed 2 years or 1.5% for 1 year.
For all things finance I can only recommend Finanztip! https://www.finanztip.de/festgeld/
yup, thanks
