Just like Alcohol & Guns, in order to activate these vendor locked motherboards + CPUs, sellers will be required to attestate proper identification in order to unlock these killswitched devices.
All they are waiting on is for the masses to accept buying these. Otherwise you will not be able to compute.

The firmware gotta somehow interact with the userspace right? What if we just switched to FreeBSD or some other OS?
