If the Chinese could have handled it well, so could have the Russians.
There no bigger PR win than former royal family living new lives as productive members of the communist society.
There’s a lot of instances in history where the Chinese handled transitions of power very badly, to be fair.
But yes, making the former emperor a street sweeper was absolutely genius.
Very different emperors though.
