1. Establish an organization. Set priorities. Put teams to work on targeted tasks

  2. Scene Size Up: Mark the difference between windows and doors on your map. Your artwork sucks…make adjustments

  3. At medical: Head to Toe assessment of all patients, then do it again…and again…

  4. PPE check your team… repeatedly

  5. Triage and keep alive, comms to your team leader, and move on

  6. Be calm and communicate a lot with your team…no quiet moments

  7. Own the door

  8. Manage the patients and DO NOT LET THEM WALK AWAY! Clearly track in/out and handoff

  9. Write it down…all of it. Support the scribe and provide the right amount of info that lines up with your actions

  10. Lift with your knees and hold your back straight

  11. Expect more as a PTB for Type 1 deployable…double check your knee pads before the drill

  12. Be on the radio to Ops early and often. Don’t wait to call for medical transport, just be sure to communicate search or rescue is continuing

  13. The screamers will be there…you just know it. Deal with them rapidly with a green tag survivor managing their hysteria
