TORONTO - A 19-year-old outstanding suspect in the U.S. consulate shooting in Toronto last March has been arrested, police announced Thursday, as officers continue to investigate a pattern of shootings across the city allegedly orchestrated by gun-for-hire networks.
lol:
This isn’t what you were looking for, is it?
GDPR and UK-GDPR have, for the time being, made our site unavailable to non-subscribers in most European countries.
Until we can meet these requirements, you have a couple of options:
Cheers,
Winnipeg Free Press
On one side, I get it. It really sucks to have to comply with all foreign laws just because you’re hosting stuff on the Internet.
On the other hand, fucking lol what a way to say you proudly love to track your users and refuse to face any consequences for it.
Also, ironic for a company with “free” in their name to be so restrictive.
They don’t actually have to comply with anything. Their website can be accessible to anyone. Only if they operate inside Europe do they have to abide by the GDPR.
No, it applies as long as the user is in the EU https://gdpr-info.eu/art-3-gdpr/
Whether Winnipeg Free Press is collecting personal data is a different question, but I’d take their geoblocking as either an admission or an indicator of (overly) paranoid lawyers.
The EU has no way to enforce it. So it means nothing, even if they make it a law in Europe.
