No they got rid men-only tournaments in the 1980s.

Did I say otherwise? I simply gave an explanation as to why “gendered chess tournaments” were ever a thing in the first place. I’m not sure what you think you’re disagreeing with me about.

So you can’t really blame this one on Trump if you have a problem with it.

When did I do that? Okay, I’m beginning to think you didn’t even read my comment before replying.

As a buttinsky bystander, I think the Trump mention was more general just because he does ruin pretty much everything, but you are spot-on about the origin of gendered tournaments.

As is usual in a public discussion, the thread including my post isn’t entirely about you.

FWIW I wasn’t around when gender separated tournaments started (1800s?) and I doubt you were there either. So neither of us knows for sure what was going on. I’d be interested in contemporaneous historical sources but am not particularly impressed by present-day internet randos spouting off.

Well, nothing you’ve said is relevant to my comment, so perhaps you shouldn’t have replied to me? We’re done here.

Maybe you should avoid posting in public forums if you don’t like the responses.
