While intentionally dismantling clean energy projects…

I’ve lost count of how many stupid things this asshole has said or done.

He’s just one big fuck up.

Does this POS really not understand still that US consumers pay the tariffs? Why the fuck would we pay extra for Canadian products and he thinks that it’s charging Canada? So sick of this moron. I’d really like to know who told him about tariffs in the first place because they really shouldn’t have. He thinks “ugh grumba mugga wunna punish country” and somehow that a tariff does that. What would it do - reduce Canadian exports? So what? Also note his instinct is to fine and punish Canada, not offer help. What a shitbag.

        You sir are correct.

He’s riling up his maga lemmings, insulting our good northerly neighbors and has lost the world’s trust and respect of the US for generations.

Our country has gone from decline to collapse under this administration.

        We are fuxked.

You know, he’s done SO much in that regard that it’s impossible for me to believe it’s accidental. I’ve never been one for conspiracy theories, but I just have to believe he’s doing the bidding of a foreign country. EVERYthing he’s done has been so good for Putin.

“Accidental” and “conspiracy” aren’t the only alternatives. You don’t need to start a conspiracy with someone this easy to manipulate. You just nudge them in the direction you want them to go.

A big reason why there probably isn’t any conspiracy is that Trump would have blathered about it if there was one.

Yeah, that’s true, except possibly if there was something that would destroy him. If they had hard evidence of crimes that even his base wouldn’t swallow. He’d shut up about that.

            And China too.

Xi and Putin are laughing daily.

Our country was founded by colonial imperialism on the backs of slaves and the genocide of the indigenous people who lived here. Clearly Canada is much the same, historically.

As much as this hurts and sucks to be dragged down in, we deserve to burn.

The whole system needs to be rebuilt from the ashes. The oligarchs, corporations and billionaires need to be held to account.

            Off with their fucking heads.

I don’t think you get how it works. The American stop buying our products and start looking for other products. But most importantly a lot of the goods and services that are manufactured in Canada only are able to do so because they sell to America so when Americans stop buying that product it’s cheaper and easier for those companies to just set up in America instead.

Trump knows this very well. More tariffs cripples are economy and prevents the investment we need to stay competitive or become competitive as we’ve fallen behind

This is just another excuse to try and bankrupt us to try and encourage us to become the 51st state

I understand he’s trying to hurt canada financially, obviously. However, industries like fertilizer and timber can’t relocate to the US.

Well timber can. Our timber industry is already getting creamed. They JUST shut down another pulp milll last week here in bc and logging is in a death spiral. Fertilizer less so but we’re not going to keep our economy going on fertilizer and oil.

And the problem isn’t just trump, we’ve had 5 consecutive quarters… that’s QUARTERS mind you not months, of more business investment leaving canada than staying and it looks like this quarter is going to be the same… And the kick in the teeth is that pre dates trump. We were already weak to begin with. Now trump has made it worse and he knows very well that it doesn’t take much at this point to make our economy take a nose dive.

This guy wants us poor and collapsing so that he can take over, actually take over if possible and financially take over if not.

if i was prime minister i would say to trump strait to his face: “with that attitude? NOPE, no more waterbombers, no more fire fighters, not a drop water until you start being GRATEFUL for what we’ve done for you and your country. sorry, you blew it, and I think I’ve made myself abundantly clear”. then walk away. and plus, by doing that the effort would be foccust on canada so there is less smoke!

    American here.

Please know that this does not represent the average American on the street. When we had big wildfires Canada sent firefighting aircraft and crews and support staff and it saved lives. We haven’t forgotten that, even if our ‘leaders’ have.

These statements are beyond shameful and they dishonor all of America. The American people do not feel this way or agree with these statements. Trump does not speak for all of us or even most of us, especially in this matter. Speaking for the average person on the street- we do not want to annex Canada, we do not want to threaten you with tariffs, we love Canada and we want good relations with our friendly northern neighbors.

Stay safe. And I’m sorry we are sending threats instead of fire crews.

Americans avoid reducing pollution and fossil fuel consumption because they claim that more populous countries are the real contributors, which would make their sacrifices a mere drop in the bucket. And yet simultaneously they believe that Canada, a country with an eighth of their population, is solely responsible for their air quality

Person who doesn’t understand how tariffs work, nor the US economy in general, threatens tariffs because he doesn’t give a shit about the environment
