I’m from the UK where the Green Party is looking like they’ve got a real chance of winning at the next election and they’re talking about distancing themselves from NATO and putting together a new defensive alliance.
The fact is that America IS NATO. If the US is an unreliable partner (they are), continue to sacrifice security of their allies for the benefit of Israel (they do) and threatening NATO members like Denmark (one of the 12 founding members btw) there is a very real chance of nuclear proliferation independent of the US becoming once again popular and a less US-centric defensive alliance being formed.
