If the population stabilises and shrinks and the demand from people shrinks to something more sustainable, then how do we get through this transition with an economy that only ever relies on “number goes up”.
You’re saying this as if population shrinkage and stabilisation is some guided process and not a catastrophe to all currently living. We’re stuck in capitalism which means people need money to eat and this crisis doesn’t mean humanity is suddenly going to act rationally.
