Transcript: A woman having sex to avoid sulking, tantrums, passive aggression, guilt-tripping or abandonment is not consenting — she’s being coerced. That’s not a relationship. That’s sexual servitude under emotional duress, and far too many women have been conditioned to believe this is what compromise looks like. It’s not.

I just want to take a moment to say, this goes both ways. Which, I’m assuming we are all aware of. I’m only bringing it up because it took me a long time to realize I was the toxic one in my first long term relationship. Turns out being raised by a narcassist means you have to do a lot of hard work.

Consent is only consent if it’s continuous and enthusiastic. I was unfortunately told my entire life that “all men want is sex” or some version of that. So when I was told he wasn’t in the mood, I tried harder. Because per my incorrect thought process, all men always want sex no exceptions. So if he didn’t, I was clearly doing something wrong.

Anyways, thanks for letting me process that out loud. Therapy has been really fun the last few years 🙃 sorry to derail lol.
