What’s the point of having trans-people compete in the league of their chosen gender instead of their biological one?

Gender is a social construct, not biological. Most people are assigned a gender at birth, but it may not reflect who they actually are. Trans women are women and trans men are men, and typically they like to be treated as such. Affirming a person’s gender is good for them, can be life-saving.

Usually a more respectful term is biologal sex rather than biologal gender, since gender is usually understood to be the social/internal sense, whereas biological sex is chromosomes, hormones, sex characteristics

As for the point, it might be dysphoric for a trans individual to compete in a single gender team with people of a different gender to them, since it would imply they have a different gender than they do, which is misgendering them.

Also, even to group it biologically, transition changes a lot of your biological sex characteristics, hormones changes secondary sex characteristics such as breasts, muscle strength, body hair, fat distribution, and voice depth in addition to the hormonal makeup of your body, primary sex characteristics (genitals) can be changed via surgery, which only leaves chromosomes, and internal reproductive organs, neither of which make a meaningful difference in sports, while the other things do make a bigger difference

What is the point of having a miraculous, dynamic human brain if you use it for such unchanging, bigoted, pathetic and base ends?

Your comment is undermining Finland. Transphobia is Putin’s policy.

Not “phobic” in the least. The trans people I’ve encountered thought this whole sports thing was ridiculous. They understood that their dysphoria leaves them in an awkward position sometimes. Internet-trans people however seem just as oblivious about their condition as internet-autists are.
