To be clear, I despise people who are antisemitic, I can’t stand it not only is it an evil ideology it reduces complex problems to “blame the jews!” which I think is stupid as hell on top of being hateful as hell. Judge people for their actions not the religions they warp into justification for their actions.

I demand a specific answer, as well as a reason as mods you chose to silence this discussion instead of weigh in on it. This is an issue DIRECTLY relevant to Ukraine and NOTHING of my criticism of Israel and the US has anything to do with being a Nazi or being antisemitic, I am deeply disappointed in this community.
I take this seriously, I do not like being labelled a Nazi and if you are going to throw that around back up your assertions or stop lazily participating in a narrative of silence around these topics.

I feel very passionately about Ukraine and will return to posting regularly about it, but probably not on the sopuli.xyz Ukraine instance.
Nobody really bothered to address my concerns, @[email protected] reached out to me personally and the second I pushed back on their framing they cut off communication.
I received no response from @[email protected] for their moderation actions.
I have received lots of little messages saying that people at sopuli.xyz like me but the lack of meaningful reaction to a mod silencing criticism of Israel quite blatantly and repeatedly from myself and others is alarming at this juncture in world history.
I don’t know how to feel other than kind of disconnected, it is important to me to keep posting updates about the Ukraine War, it doesn’t stop for my feelings but I just think it is so damn frustrating and indicative how the sopuli.xyz moderation team treated me with oven mitts from 1000 miles away while likely coddling the Zionist? mod who can’t handle anyone questioning whether Israel has actually behaved as an ally to Ukraine.
Are their personal issues are too tied up in the politics of this for them to see this lucidly? What makes me upset is that the rest of sopuli.xyz just kind of fell silent about it and made me feel like I was the problem.
Ukraine has no missile interceptors, and there is no end to the shortage of them in sight now. THE ONLY REASON FOR THIS are the choices Netanyahu/Israel and Trump/US made to launch the Iran War when they did and they were told repeatedly by advisors that this would be the inevitable result. I cannot emphasize this enough.
I was banned for responding to someone’s comments about Israel too, it wasn’t even like I brought Israel into the conversation, I just challenged the axiomatic assumption the person was making about Israel being Ukraine’s ally and that was enough to have my comments removed and be banned.

The truth is I am painfully, comically and maddeningly adhd to the point that when people take a close look at my mind they almost always get stressed out, I post articles because otherwise I would just be reading the articles and trying to keep track of them with some bookmark system and honestly not only would I probably lose it/stop using it, I figure why not share my bookmarks with the world and maybe others will find some use in it? Besides if I share the articles on the fediverse than its like my bookmarks are bouncy balls in an infinite stairwell and that is fun and helps them not disappear like when I throw bouncy balls down my own internal stairwells (I mean I love emacs/org mode tho, don’t get me wrong).
I read at least most of every article I post and usually I return to ones I read less closely as they bounce around in my head (I jump back and forth a lot between articles as I read), and I post almost everything I like reading that I read, I have no use for AI (if anything AI has use for my training data because I don’t use AI) my brain wants to consume words not sit next to a robot doing it. I consider the work of posting and quoting an article a part of the mental exercise of critically reading the article, so what looks like a large amount of posting work for me is really just me just slightly re-contextualizing the wild goose chase I am always on with my brain whether I like it or not.
I am often too much, I tend to firehose, but here I feel like I fit in because 1.) if people get annoyed that I am firehosing, as long as I try to keep the quality of my posts high, then it just serves as a taunt to other people to step up and drown my voice out by adding their own in… and 2.) I can go suppppppppperrrr broad in my reading and posting so that I can read and share as much as my brain wants to without it being a complete overload in any one particular community or subject. 3.) The fediverse is decentralized so nobody has to ever be stuck in my firehose if they don’t want to lol.
Also when I say I am at war with corporate social media, most especially reddit and discord, I fucking mean it.

I promise this is temporary, I have been posting the most important bits about Ukraine I find to [email protected] and to [email protected] for now and I have tentively made [email protected] and I was going to start posting to it within the next couple of days, I intend it to encompass the scope of how I want to share news and information about current world conflicts as a series of actions taken by fossil fuel powers to lock in a dwindling fossil fuel market as renewables begin to ernestly compete with fossil fuels at their core competencies and efficiencies.
I mostly stopped posting on [email protected] because there is a weird blindspot about Israel going on, and I had a similar issue with lemmy world admins and articles about the palestinian genocide so… I am wary to go over to [email protected] because of experience with site admins (not [email protected] mods) on these topics but also the community seems chill there lately so I am trying to post there more.
Also the Bab-El-Mandeb has been drawing my primary focus of late just because of how much worse escalation there can make everything including the war in Ukraine… and I guess too I feel like I have made my major points about Ukraine and we will see if many of them are wrong or right as the details of Vivaldi start to come out and it evolves… right now the tires are hitting the pavement but because of opsec we won’t know or be able to start talking about it analytically right now and once the Ukraine government starts publicizing their counteroffensives more broadly I think is when that conversation takes off like a cambrian explosion (and then will there be an amphibious landing on the Kinburn Spit?). This is just the antecedent moment before that and I guess that is another way of saying that except for lack of ballistic missile interceptors Ukraine is kicking russia’s ass and I am pretty hopeful for Ukraine right now, way more than a year ago.
For now the main strategic message I have for Ukraine is Israel is not your friend and that being happy Iran is getting fucked up because they were instrumental in supplying russia’s flying bomb production especially in the beginning is not the same thing as it being good to get drawn into this illegal war of choice that has crucially for Ukraine denied it what it needs most in the short and medium term… i.e. ballistic missile interceptors.
We cannot see these conflicts as divided into clean categories the way the lemmy world news admins seem hyperfixated on and I don’t trust the [email protected] lead mods to not censor conversation on Israel (though I agree with zero tolerance for nazis and antisemites) when it is uncomfortable nor do I trust the lead admins of sopuli.xyz to really engage with that nuance, though I would love to be proven wrong on that it isn’t a feeling set in stone.
