Is this the 2 tier policing we supposed to be really angry about?

Analysis of ~unsolved~ homicides in London between 2019 and 2023 found minority ethnic British people made up 61% of victims. When researchers assessed unsolved murders, 92.9% of cases in the capital were connected with a victim who was a person of colour.

The guardian has screwed up what the numbers mean, so here’s the actual report.

    https://aoav.org.uk/2026/uk-capitals-cold-murder-cases-reveal-a-deadly-racial-disparity-young-black-men-are-disproportionately-represented-in-londons-unsolved-killings/

Non-White British individuals made up 92.9% of all unsolved murder victims in London between 2019 and 2023. Between 2019 to 2023, non-White British individuals accounted for 61.7% of reported homicides.

Since The Guardian for some reason didn’t bother to print the full statistics from their very own source, I’ll do it myself: https://aoav.org.uk/2026/londons-2025-murders-examined-key-figures-in-the-uk-capitals-homicides/

More serious politics should go in [email protected].

Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think “reputable news source” needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.
