The vaccines will no longer be available as a ‘universal program’ from 1 October, bringing significant changes to free vaccine eligibility.

From 1 October, free COVID-19 vaccines will only be available under the NIP for:

  • adults aged 75 years and over (one dose every six months)
  • adults aged 65–74 years (one dose every 12 months)
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 50–74 years (one dose every 12 months)
  • all adults aged 18 years and over with severe immunocompromise (one dose every 12 months).

    I don’t get why any nation requires people to pay for any vaccines. Even people ok with shots do not find it an enjoyable activity. Just limit how often you can get them so you don’t get something like the guy who got a whole ton of injections. Honestly might as well add like most blood tests to that.
