And just in case someone’s wondering, not in a quick and easy death way, more in days of unfathomable pain and shitting out your intestines way.
TLDR: wear gloves when gardening and don’t just burn stuff without doing a quick google first.

Taxus baccata (English yew) and Rhododendron aren’t great either.
Capsaicin isn’t an insecticide – it’s a fungicide.
Also deters mammals while not deterring birds!
It doesn’t deter mammals. When lab rats were presented with regular food or very spicy food, most of the rats actually preferred the food that had lots of capsaicin in it.
As I type this, I’m currently eating a meal with 650,000 scoville unit hot sauce in it. A lot of 650,000 scoville unit hot sauce. I’m a glutton for plant pesticide punishment.
