Are audiences also just sick of the unwilling agent thriller genre? Could be. I had no interest in this movie not because I assumed it was bad, or because I’m tied to Israel, but because I’m just sick of seeing that type of story.
You know, where the protagonist gets some phone call and suddenly is strung along, doing more and more that they don’t agree with. There’s probably an agent that at some point says, “There’s more to this.” They probably play a pivotal part in saving the protagonist, or turn out to be working for the villain. I don’t know. I can’t guess all the twists and turns, but the fact that I can imagine the beats makes me disinterested. I’m sick of the same ride.
