Even in the first scenario, what stops there from being multiple wake words with different functionality? So like “ok google” wakes up the bot but “pepsi” wakes it silently and has it tick a box on the back end of a server that now sends me Coke adds because they paid about $3.50 for the privilege?
Migrating here (or maybe keeping both) from @[email protected]

Well, “relative few” is technically correct at about 45% of Americans. Now, way less than that carry, and even less with any regularity, and even less open carry, so yeah you probably don’t see them often, but they’re around.

Privacy@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Is the Government Running a Dragnet on VPN Users?
3·2 days agoTbf if you’re using a US based VPN company and/or US based servers and you’re trying to hide from the US government, I mean what do you expect? Try using Mullvad and servers in Switzerland and you’ll probably have a better chance, but frankly VPNs have never been for hiding from government level threats, that’s what Tails/Tor and Qubes/Whonix are for (and even then there’s the possibility of correlation attacks since like most nodes are controlled by the US gov, but if people started running more nodes themselves that would help a lot.)

Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Have you encountered VHS or Cassette piracy in the 80s?English
18·2 days agoPsst, torrenting was invented in 2001. Back in the old days of which you speak it was entirely sneakernet (sometimes you’d rent the mail’s sneakers).
“Torrents” doesn’t mean “piracy,” it means the bittorrent p2p protocol specifically. If you download something today off Usenet it’s not torrenting.
Mmhmm.
Lol ngl, until the allegations come out, I like him.
Well we’ve again arrived at the “been there done that” phase, where I remind you that I have been given up, but that still isn’t “dating advice.”

1·4 days agoIt does, in this case you can choose not to get the tumor at all.
By the nature of the advice there’s nothing to figure out, it leaves it entirely to chance and luck, it barely qualifies as advice, it’s like “wanna get rich? Stop trying and hope for money.”
I mean depends on who you ask apparently, but I agree which is why I phrased it like that and put it in a separate section from the actual rapes that I experienced that probably fall more in line with what you’re thinking, and I still don’t treat all women as a monolith for the actions of a few.
Your advice was “give up” lmao, duh.
Yes any time anyone calls out your trite ass hack platitudes it means you touched a nerve lmao, they couldn’t possibly just be making fun of you and everyone else who has the same banal asinine assumption.
Live laugh love ass bullshit.
Really tbh the best part is the assumption “oh you have trouble finding a committed relationship? Must be because you literally do absolutely nothing and have no hobbies at all, you’re probably the only one who has figured out stasis.” Like what do you think I just go into a coma? Sure work and sleep takes up a good majority of my time like anyone else but then after that I simply cease to exist until my next shift?
Did this make it sound like I was saying “actually you’re right I do enter stasis” or "of course I have hobbies you fucking maroon.
If it doesn’t work, ok.
It doesn’t
Then some unc on the internet was wrong.
He is.
Wouldn’t be the first time.
I’m sure.
But it’s clear that you’re not satisfied with the results of your current approach.
But doctor, that is my current approach.
So yeah, that is what happened.

1·5 days agoTbf it often gets things wrong and has hallucinations already, and while that is still there in traditional searches AI removes it from it’s context and puts it right at the top of the results, where it insinuates that it is the most accurate results.
This highlights the issue quite well imo, it’s easier for a human to understand satire or nuance or context or when to take X with a grain of salt depending on the source and other context clues than it is for a lowly machine to do the same, and when the machine fails at the distinction and pushes false things as truth devoid of (or even with slightly obfuscated) context and by the way it does it while it pretends to be human itself, it makes it easier for the human to just accept it as fact. Should they? Of course not, but currently it seems to be an issue and whether you hate AI or love AI bringing attention to this issue (in a hilarious way no less) can only be a good thing.

3·5 days agoI’m just a fellow reader here but if I had to hazard a guess it was either autocorrect from NSA to NASA, or my preferred option “it’s much funnier to say NASA because it’s silly.”
Huh, I’ll check out if there’s any in my area. No go on the workplace, and I do neither the spyware dating apps nor the spyware spying apps (what else does facebook do really it’s all spying all the way down) nor reddit, I’m here partially because reddit chased me off when they killed 3rd party apps after all and lemmy dating isn’t a thing. Also tbh I have ADHD bad and have a hard time reading something unless I pick it, and even then I’m not afraid to say “nah this one’s no good” and not finish it lol, not sure I’m book club material, more “talk about the books we’re currently hyperfocused on” material haha.
I’m in a moderate city, it’s possible we have hiking groups I’m unaware of, I just hope I can find them without facebook because I do not have one, I’ll look, thanks!
Lmao yeah probably. Actually I have been organizing a Steve Jackson board game day with some coworkers and it’s great, but afaik there’s no groups for this game in my area. The LGS has DnD, Magic, Warhammer, and that’s it. DnD is cool but short of your situation repeating for me I wouldn’t ask anyone, it’s still the only LGS and I can’t become the resident creep, I need Munchkin expansions, and tbh I really don’t have the time for DnD rn that’s a whole thing.

Can I slightly cheat and choose all the powers of one superhero (or maybe more of a trickster god)? I want Bugs Bunny powers, since he’s the most powerful being in the universe.
