For about a week, I had my coworker’s face as my cursor. Just because I could. I wanted to see how long it would take people to notice. I share my screen a lot. I was surprised it took that long.
After downloading tons of them, and trying them out on various computers over a range of screen sizes and resolutions, and also considering what fits with the vibe of my theming, I have ended up with Breeze. Pretty basic, but I love it. I have to use Windows at work, and got Breeze on there as well.

Even if it is feasible, I still encounter twice as many people as I want to on a daily basis. I want to live on Solaria, from Isaac Asimov’s The Naked Sun.

I love this every time I see it. I don’t know why, but “Have you had your hearing tested lately?” cracks me up every single time.

I always tell my wife that if they found a secret warehouse full of old Aztek parts and pumped some new ones out, I’d get one on the spot. I loved that car.
Sometimes I miss those days. So little responsibility. Renting was so much easier than home ownership. Living alone was way easier than having a family. All I HAD to do was go to work, and pay my bills. All of my time, all of my money, all up to my discretion.
Not to say I don’t love my family or my house, and I would never trade them to go back. But sometimes, if I could go back in time for just a week… I think I’d be really refreshed. A time vacation.
I knew a guy like that. I used to drive him to/from work all the time after he got his DUI. When my apartment flooded, he let me crash for a few days. He had a couch, a coffee table, a huge TV, the same computer my parents had when I was in middle school, and a mattress on the floor. That was his entire apartment. Except he could afford furniture, he just spent it all on women and booze. Wonder what he’s up to now.
What if we kept them underground. We could build a city above it. It would be a hub for trade, exchanging methane for other goods. We could call it Bartertown.

It was. Pre-Conway Twitty and stupid chicken fight sequences.

I’ve been playing it on my potato tablet that I revived with Linux recently. It’s basically the only game that runs on it. Well, only thing better than Solitaire or Mahjongg. It’s really impressive, takes me back to my Compaq LTE 5300 and playing RCT when it was new.
I remember seeing that episode on TV back when I still thought Family Guy was funny. I looked up that episode, it was from 2005! Damn, where does the time go. Feels like a lifetime ago.
Probably because people above the waterline don’t know Mozilla exists, and people below have seen how things have been going lately.
As an engineer, I suppose I should be offended by this. But I realize that it is based on “emotions,” a type of internal sensory experience some humans have on a daily basis. This is not logical, and shall be disregarded. End statement.
