I haven’t tested but what happens if you use Voyager in a browser (e.g. at https://vger.app/), presumably you can use an extension to set your user agent in the browser while still getting the Voyager experience?

I’m not sure at what point in the last 20 years they put the instructions in the vim, but it gives you clear instructions on what to do if it thinks you’re trying to escape from vim jail.
also huge news for transylvania
Transylvania, with an alternative Latin prepositional prefix, means “on the other side of the woods”

Yeah I guess the country isn’t enough on it’s own. It’s worth knowing when something is owned by some billionaire regardless of what country it is.

How do you decide the country?
E.g. Opera browser is headquartered in Norway, but the Opera company that develops the browser was bought by a Chinese billionaire a few years back.
Would he not have a mechanical exoskeleton to support the weight?

Good point. Previously VR games would run on Linux, same as any other games, but VR is super sensitive to frame rate and people using VR on Linux weren’t having a great experience.
This was probably 5+ years ago, so I think performance has come a long way. But also the Steam Machine is likely pretty specifically tuned so it might work a lot better than a general desktop distro.

Thanks! I guess the Steam Frame should have onboard capability too so it doesn’t exclusively require a PC like the Index did. I am looking forward to the year I can finally get one 😅

Me too. It’s been years now since I sold my Index. Any idea what the state of VR on Linux is? My ecosystem looks very different than it did back then 😅
Damn, I have a 240v induction stove, can I melt metal? 😆
I tried searching this question but apparently there are safety features to prevent me doing cool stuff.
Haha wow, this guy on reddit: https://old.reddit.com/r/Thermal/comments/1qffa4e/infrared_video_of_my_gas_stove/
Electric heating is 100% efficient in general, as in 100% of the energy used is converted to thermal energy.
Yeah, I was careful to specify transferring heat to the pan.
Luckily a ridiculous amount of research has been done to show:
Ok I am convinced now 😆. I’m easy to convince if you have data. I am surprised though, I have used all three and induction is by far the quickest to heat. I can boil a giant pot of water in a few minutes, so I am a bit surprised that the difference between electric and induction is not that big.
I guess gas is fast to heat because it stores a ridiculous amount of energy so it can waste plenty and still be quick.
I am not convinced an electric stovetop is any more efficient at transferring heat to the pan than gas is, unless you are using induction which the majority of electric hobs will not be.
Edit: I have been convinced now, see below

Huh interesting! I see playing on their website that an equivalent laptop is more expensive in the DIY version, it’s just that the starting price includes no RAM, storage, etc.
So the DIY is for people who want to bring their own parts, not for people who want to get all the parts then save money!

Framework sells DIY kits so the European dude assembling the laptop could be himself!
Depends if you count OEM licences that came with their device as purchases, which would be the vast majority of people.
therefore any change in the past will have unpredictable consequences, which will differ from your preferred timeline.
Wait, this is people’s preferred timeline?
Unfortunately they don’t take requests for new subreddits anymore. In addition, they don’t mirror comments so in terms of answers to questions it’s probably not that helpful.
Mycroft the company went bust. Not sure if you’d still want to do this with unmaintained software.
Tracker Control blocks requests to domains. When you use Voyager to read an article, Voyager loads the website which might contain trackers. Tracker Control can help block that sort of thing.
