  • Yes, actually. One theory is that the process involved taking in wolf pups and keeping the ones that maintained pup like traits, because they were more agreeable to humans.

Adult wolves do not wag their tails or bark, but pups do. Behavioral traits in dogs have strong genetic components and can be bred in and out in a few generations.

  • Dr Rahmeh Aladwan, 31, appeared at the Old Bailey earlier charged with four counts of inviting support for the proscribed group by posting comments online between 23 July and 31 December 2025.

It is alleged she wrote: “I don’t condemn Hamas. I don’t condemn October 7,” and “I condemn the existence of Israel” in a post on 23 July.

Aladwan, from Pilning near Bristol, is also accused of using threatening or abusive insulting words at a protest in London on 21 July, and stirring up racial hatred in written material on 19 November.

Put under “Notes” in your phone’s emergency contact card “Dogs home alone at (address)” and make sure your emergency contact knows that part of that responsibility is minding the dogs if something happens.

There are also apps that can act as a deadman switch and contact someone for you if you don’t check in with it at chosen intervals.
